Torrecilla en Cameros

8 · The Felipe Nestares Park

Torrecilla has excellent social spaces, big and little squares with a long tradition and several fountains that provided water to each neighbourhood. Among them, the medieval fountain of Campillo, the classicist one of the Saint Martin Square or the so-called “Fuente Cillas”, from the XVII century.
The centre of the town is today the park dedicated to Felipe Nestares, emigrant in Chile and benefactor of the village, who developed this space in 1924. It is the meeting place par excellence and the centre of social life of the community, especially during the summer, as it takes advantage of the shade of its century-old chestnut trees.
