Lumbreras de Cameros

3 · The church of Saint Bartolomé

A building made from ashlar and masonry from the XVIth and XVIIth centuries, that is accessed through an atrium closed by two beautiful forge fences from the ancient Chapel of Christ. Its interior, with a single nave, is decorated with a baroque altarpiece in which the image of the saint to whom the church is devoted can be seen.
It has two other interesting altarpieces, coming from the donations of the illustrious people of the town who made their fortune in the Court: The altarpiece of Saint Juan Nepomuceno, with an excellent carving and crowned with a painting of the Divina Pastora (the Divine Shepherd), very suitable for the livestock activity of the place of which she is patroness; and the one devoted to Saint Jerónimo Penitente.
Other remarkable works are: The organ (from the beginning of the XVIIIth century) that has a magnificent decoration and which, after its restoration, allows to perform interesting concerts in the parish church; and the choir.
