El Rasillo de Cameros

1 · The church

In this building we can see the last reminiscences of the Gothic style and the continuity of the construction throughout the XVI and XVII centuries, until the completion of the tower a century later. The church, with a single nave, is devoted to Nuestra Señora de las Eras and stands out from the rest of the houses for its large volume.
The building forms an interesting set together with the square. Inside, the Baroque altarpiece displays the Patroness in the centre. Currently, the chapel of Saint Mamés contains the altarpiece of this Patron of El Rasillo, which was brought form its hermitage. A Romanic carving of the Virgin of the Rosario and another of Santiago Pilgrim should be highlighted.
