Villoslada is a good example of a mountain village. Its forestry, livestock and textile activities have shaped its urban plan, and the departure of its inhabitants to «the Americas» marked many aspects of its local history.

It is located within the Sierra de Cebollera Natural Park and for decades it was a destination for hunters, fishermen and vacationers. Many certain age Riojans learned to ski in the area of Hoyos de Iregua.

The presence of the patroness of the Sierra in this district brings thousands of devotees every year to visit her chapel, and many keep the blessed oil and get «charity» of chorizo and meat at the chapel festivities.

During the summer, the area of Achichuelo has gathered camps and families near the cold waters of the Iregua. Its cuisine recalls its pastoralist past and “caldereta” (stew) and “migas” (crumbs) are consumed, highlighting the importance of pork sausages.

Villoslada es un buen ejemplo de pueblo serrano. Su dedicación forestal, ganadera y textil ha configurado su traza urbana, y la partida de sus habitantes hacia “las américas” ha marcado muchos aspectos de la historia local.

Se encuentra dentro del Parque Natural Sierra de Cebollera y desde hace décadas era un destino de cazadores, pescadores y veraneantes. Muchos riojanos de cierta edad aprendieron a esquiar en el entorno de Hoyos de Iregua.

La presencia de la patrona de la Sierra en su término, trae cada año a miles de devotos a visitar su ermita y muchos guardan el aceite bendecido y reciben “la caridad” de chorizo y de carne en las fiestas de la ermita.

Durante el verano la zona del Achichuelo ha reunido a campamentos y familias junto a las aguas frías del Iregua.

Su gastronomía recuerda su pasado pastoril y se consume caldereta y migas, destacando la importancia de sus embutidos de cerdo.
