En uno de sus valles recorrido por el río Iregua, está el Camero Nuevo, tierra de bosques, pastizales, cumbres y pequeños valles, donde se sitúan 13 pueblos con historia, tradiciones y leyendas, que siglos atrás se agruparon bajo la denominación de Hermandad de las 13 Villas.

6 · The Castle
It is the only castle in the region. Above the village rises a rock that is crowned with this defensive construction, unique in the Cameros, although there are other terms of a defensive nature in the toponymy, as in the case of the neighbouring Viguera. It probably had other exterior defences that would adapt to the contour of the castle.
The site was related to the Lords of Cameros (XII century) and later to the Counts of Nieva (XV century).
At present, the castle is complicated to reach, due to the state of the path, narrow and with a steep slope.
