3 · The Bridge

It is the first bridge that crosses the Iregua River and, in the past, it was essential to walk towards pastures and farmland. Tradition, which considers it Roman, says it served to connect Varea with Numancia through the Roman road.
The bridge, built in the XVIth century, separates the residential area from the place where once was the industrial one where mills, fulling machines and a textile factory were installed. This large size factory still exists and, although it is used for a different purpose, it reflects the industrial past of this place.
By this margin of the Iregua river, the water was driven to the hydraulic devices that moved wheels and weaving machines.
