En uno de sus valles recorrido por el río Iregua, está el Camero Nuevo, tierra de bosques, pastizales, cumbres y pequeños valles, donde se sitúan 13 pueblos con historia, tradiciones y leyendas, que siglos atrás se agruparon bajo la denominación de Hermandad de las 13 Villas.

As in many other places in Cameros, the large size of the temple is remarkable compared to the small number of inhabitants that the place had.
It is a XVI century masonry and ashlar building, with a wide open porch with four semi-circular arches.
Inside, there is a Rococo style altarpiece and a canvas of Santiago, similar to the carving of Nieva de Cameros. The devotion to Santiago in Cameros is very frequent and can be related to the mythical battle of Clavijo, in which the knights from León participated and were rewarded with the lots that populate the Sierra, such as those of Valdeosera, Tejada and the neighbour of Calderas.
